“Ready to Learn”: Class Workshop (PreK – 4)

Description:

  • As part of their Ready To Learn service, they offer free Ready To Learn workshops specifically developed for PreK through 4th grade students for educators and community educational organizations
  • An engaging video clip, a read aloud, and fun hands-on activities are integrated into each workshop. Lessons are aligned to the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards and Social Studies Standards
  • Run for approximately 45-60 minutes per class and multiple subjects available

Reading Buddies: Class Workshop (K – 5)

Description:

  • In-class structured 10-week/1 hour or 20-week/30 minute mentor and literacy program partnering grade K or 1st students with 3rd, 4th or 5th grade students
  • Younger students read to older students and older students “teach”
  • “Big” and “Little” Buddies have joint workshop at completion

Family Engagement: Class Workshop (PreK – K)

Description:

  • Can be scheduled during the day or evening
  • Workshops:
    • Literacy Comes Alive! Shows parents how to take any book and “make it come alive”
    • Ready for School, Ready for Fun! Shows parents how to make inexpensive, educational activities at home
    • Financial Literacy! Lessons include identifying coins, their attributes and their values
