Executives

Thank you to the 96 business and community leaders who participated in Principal for a ½ Day last year! For half a day last year, executives learned what it was like to be a Principal or Administrator in the Washoe County School District and about the 65,000 students they serve. Execs saw first-hand what education looks and feels like in our community and educators shared ideas and established relationships with their match. Click here for photos of the event!

After spending the morning together, educators and executives gathered for lunch generously hosted by Renown Health. Washoe County Manager John Slaughter and Alex Woodley, Education Alliance Board President from the City of Reno, recognized McQueen High School senior Natasha Santiago, the talented student artist who designed the first ever Partner in Education emblem, unveiling her art design and presenting her with a $1,000 scholarship for her post-secondary education! Shout out to Nevada Arts Council Executive Director Tony Manfredi for his time in the classroom with Natasha and her class to put the final touches on the art! Hearty thanks to Washoe County for providing the funding to expand the Partner in Education Program!

Our warmest thanks to Ann Silver and the Reno+Sparks Chamber of Commerce for hosting the Meet Your Match wine and cheese mixer the night before where the Partner in Education PiE Champion Awards were presented to Steak ‘n Shake and Renown Health as small and large outstanding partners!
