Activities:
        • Energy Efficiency
          • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) • 4-ESS3 • 5-ESS3
          • The Energy Efficiency unit compares renewable and nonrenewable resources, including the benefits and disadvantages associated with both. Students will uncover how humans impact the environment through natural resource extraction for the purpose of energy production.
        • Force of Water
          • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) • 5-ESS2 • 4-ESS2 • 4-ESS3 • 3-5 ETS1
          • The terminal watersheds of northern Nevada are some of the most distinct hydrologic features of our state. This place-based unit delves into various aspects of four drainage basins: Truckee, Carson, Humboldt, and Walker. From regional geography to the natural and anthropogenic sources of nonpoint source pollution, these lessons emphasize the importance of conserving our water resources.
        • Great Basin
          • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) • 4-LS1 • 4-ESS2 • 5-ESS2 • 5-LS2
          • The Great Basin is home to distinctive ecosystems, geological features, and a unique watershed. During this four-lesson unit, students will learn about the four spheres within this region: the biosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, and atmosphere.
